Admission Process

Our admissions process is designed to provide prospective students and their families an opportunity to understand our mission and to learn more about the school's educational programs and benefits.

There are 5 steps to the admissions process:

  1. Prescreening: Online Form

  2. Attend Informational Meeting/School Visit

  3. Parent Interview / Student Informal Observation

  4. Shadow Day

  5. Enrollment Payment and Final Documents Submitted

The process begins with a parent requesting and filling out our Prescreening Application. Our team will connect to inform about next informational meeting availability.  If there is an appropriate option available, we will provide the parent with a more thorough application, and we will schedule a parent interview and informal observation of the student. This will take no more than 30 minutes.   During the observation appointment, we will meet with your child individually, get to know them, and a parent will meet with the director/teacher to review their application.
Lastly, if our team believes we could serve your student, we will invite him or her to attend a Shadow Day, that is, a full school day with our classes.  All families must pay the Shadow Day fee in order to be considered for enrollment.

Keystone Educational Center does not discriminate in our admissions or academic programs offered at the school based on religion, ethnicity, race or national background.

We aim to serve our students with a truly exceptional education and support their families in the process. This can only be accomplished through a safe, carefully cultivated, enriching classroom environment for our students and teachers.

To start the process for enrollment,  please fill out the Prescreen Application below.

  • 1. What types of students does Keystone Education Center serve?
Keystone Education Center is designed for children ages 8–13 with mild to moderate autism, adhd, anxiety, and related learning differences. Our multiage classrooms provide individualized support, small group instruction, and a nurturing environment where every child can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
  • 2. What makes Keystone different from other schools?
Keystone offers a unique blend of academic instruction, life skills, and weekly community outings. Our certified teachers use technology, hands-on learning, and character development in a small, private-school setting. No other school in our area provides this combination full-time.
  • 3. What is the class size and student-to-teacher ratio at Keystone Education Center?
We cap enrollment to keep a low student-to-teacher ratio and multiple certified educators on staff. This allows for personalized attention and flexible grouping based on student needs. In our multiage classroom settings, students are more likely to cooperate than compete. The spirit of cooperation and caring makes it possible for students to help each other as individuals, not see each other as competitors.
  • 4. What does a typical day look like?
Students start the day with a morning meeting in their homeroom, then rotate through engaging core subjects like math, reading, science, and civics. They will spend time together in outside free play time, and more structured PE class. The week also includes a rotation of art, dance and movement, karate, music, character development, and a weekly field trip. The schedule is consistent but responsive to student needs.
  • 5. How does Keystone Education Center support social development and life skills?
Social growth is woven into everything we do—from group activities and peer interactions to real-world learning during weekly field trips. We also teach daily life skills and positive character traits to help students grow into confident, independent young people.
  • 6. What is the tuition, and are scholarships or financial aid available?
For the 2025–26 school year, tuition is $12,500 plus a $700 deposit. We accept the Florida Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (formerly Gardiner/Step Up) and offer limited financial assistance through donations and grant support. We never want cost to prohibit a student from applying.
