Parent Information Presentation

The Full Story

Keystone Education Center was born out of a deep, personal need—a need for a better way to educate and support students who don’t fit the mold of traditional classrooms. As parents and teachers ourselves, we saw firsthand how neurodivergent children were struggling in systems that weren’t designed with their learning styles in mind. Instead of asking them to adapt to the system, we decided to create a school that adapts to them.

What started as a vision to help a few became a vibrant, full-time microschool serving students ages 8–13 with autism and related learning differences. At Keystone, we combine certified educators, individualized learning technology, hands-on science, weekly field trips, and a strong focus on life skills, character, and social development. Our one-room schoolhouse model allows students to thrive in a multi-age, small-group environment that feels more like a community than a classroom.

We’ve seen our students go from discouraged and disengaged to confident, curious, and connected. That transformation is why we do what we do—and why we invite you to come see what makes Keystone so special.

  • What types of students does Keystone serve?
Keystone Education Center is designed for children ages 8–13 with mild to moderate autism, ADHD, anxiety, and related learning differences. Our multiage classrooms provide individualized support, small group instruction, and a nurturing environment where every child can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
  • What makes Keystone Education Center different from other schools?
Keystone Education Center offers a unique blend of academic instruction, life skills, and weekly community outings. Our certified teachers use technology, hands-on learning, and character development in a small, private-school setting. No other school in our area provides this combination full-time.
  • 3. What is the class size and student-to-teacher ratio at Keystone Education Center?
We cap enrollment to keep a low student-to-teacher ratio and multiple certified educators on staff. This allows for personalized attention and flexible grouping based on student needs. In our multiage classroom settings, students are more likely to cooperate than compete. The spirit of cooperation and caring makes it possible for students to help each other as individuals, not see each other as competitors.
  • 4. What does a typical day look like?
Students start the day with a morning meeting in their homeroom, then rotate through engaging core subjects like math, reading, science, and civics. They will spend time together in outside free play time, and more structured PE class. The week also includes a rotation of art, dance and movement, karate, music, character development, and a weekly field trip. The schedule is consistent but responsive to student needs.
  • 5. How does Keystone Education Center support social development and life skills?
Social growth is woven into everything we do—from group activities and peer interactions to real-world learning during weekly field trips. We also teach daily life skills and positive character traits to help students grow into confident, independent young people.
  • 6. What is the tuition, and are scholarships or financial aid available?
For the 2025–26 school year, tuition is $12,500 plus a $700 deposit. We accept the Florida Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (formerly Gardiner/Step Up) and offer limited financial assistance through donations and grant support. We never want cost to prohibit a student from applying.
